Rice:

The Frigorífico Modelo S.A. launched this activity in 1999. A dam was built, with a mirror of water covering 400 ha and the capacity to irrigate 1000 ha of paddy fields.

Between 500 and 700 ha of rice are planted per year, at a ratio of two of rice to four of grasslands.

This interaction between both types of farming has had a favourable impact on the livestock cycle.

We have applied this method for the past five years, sowing 1.200 ha of permanent mixed grasslands.
